To date, the best book on editing, and maybe the art and craft of writing, I’ve read.
Strengths:
Not pedantic – stresses that each writer will need to find what works for her
Lays out techniques, provides examples and studies
Discusses general editing concepts (macro vs micro editing) and offers a “Diagnostic Checklist” Kaleb Lynn Thomashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17587124558079583867noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2649463424651889287.post-21202047435206707052014-10-29T17:56:00.001-07:002014-10-29T18:11:43.315-07:00Perfect, Episode Forty ♦ Howling WindPart Two of Perfect draws to a close with publication of

Every writer has loathed the phrase "show don't tell" at some point in developing the craft. It can be one of the harder skills to master - but it takes so long to show something when I can just tell the reader what's happening. True.
Writers need to balance many things, and yes, moving the story along is one of those things. Just don't do it at the expense of your reader's connection with Kaleb Lynn Thomashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08544999137619113198noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2649463424651889287.post-78265198411070315502014-04-15T16:27:00.002-07:002014-05-27T17:20:15.892-07:00Perfect, Episode Twenty-sixGeorge and Anita are leaving Hannibal. My apologies for the delay - had some personal issues that put me behind a couple of days. Friday postings didn't seem to attract many readers. I'm looking to see how posting on a Wednesday pans out. After today, I'm planning to post every other Tuesday starting on 15 April 2014.

Now that George and Anita are settling into a new life in Hannibal, it's time to make some sense out of the clues, "Beware of hucksters. Find

It's more fun in the future historic town - or is that historic future town? - of Hannibal on the Mississippi.
